Minutes from Solo 2 Steering Committee Meeting
April 29, 2004

Present: Tage Evanson, Scott and Glenda Meyers, Kevin Vesinik, Brian Peters, Jim Rohn, Ted Lewis, Kevin Gleaton, Mark Shaw, Dawn Maxwell, Steve Eymann, ……………………..

1. Az. State Championship Series – Essentially the same as the first effort. Mark Shaw presented the final details to the group and the dates were set; SV October 3, Tucson Nov. 28, and Phoenix December 5. Approved. To be posted on website.

2. Budget report – We are around $10,00 in checking right now with two outstanding rent bills. Looks healthy. Process for maintaining future budget amounts was approved; Checking should have a “working average” of $7000, and the Savings maintain a range of $10,000 to $25,000 depending on anticipated expenses. Final exact version to be drafted and re-voted.

3. Classing and Registration Process – Reviewed and discussed. We will post links on the registration page of classing helps ASAP. Decided to ensure that all registration forms would be audited before first cars ran to guarantee completeness.

4. Fall Az. Region Series – May Event #4. Discussed and decided that we would do Sep/Oct/Nov at Firebird, and December at PIR; Dates are (?? – from Jim’s earlier posting, still not on web site) Sep. 12, Oct. 17, Nov. 7, and Dec. 4 & 5. Chair people are: Sep/Clement, Oct/Meyers, Nov/Smith, Dec/Maxwell.
a. Waiver station needs to be alert for early arrival drag racers
b. New scoreboard ready by summer
c. Food for May event will be available with no vendor guarantee
d. Jodie and Glenda will plan the Spring Banquet for June 19
e. Kevin Gleaton will fix single car classing loophole
f. Updated Supplementals discussed and approved
g. Mark Shaw will update the Azsolo2.com website as discussed.

5. Summer Series at CAC - Discussed and dates/chairpeople set; June 13/Shaw, July 18/Vesinik, Aug 8/McCombs. No limits to be set other than 60 cars or 120 drivers. The truck will be driven to the site and stored there. The plan is to end by 12 noon.

6. Flagstaff Cactus Corvair Club Event – Will be June 6 at the Skydome parking lot. This will not be an SCCA event, but we will assist.
