Dude, what the hell. I'm obviously talking about ONE SPECIFIC CAR, WITH A COMPARISION OF TWO SPECIFIC ENGINES. You're turning a simple statement into an all encompassing blanket view.

Do you deny that BETWEEN THESE TWO ENGINES, IN THE SPECIFIC CAR THAT I'M ACTUALLY TALKING ABOUT that the pushrod engine DOES NOT HAVE A LOWER TORQUE PEAK? Did you understand that I provided you with TECHNICAL DATA on the TWO SPECIFIC ENGINES that I am comparing? I'm speaking of TWO GASOLINE ENGINES OF THE SAME DISPLACEMENT AND SAME ENGINE FAMILY.

Oh snap, you really disproved the non GT-S version of the AE86 has more low end power with that example of a DOHC DIESEL ENGINE.

Making people angry over the internet is fun!

Just chill out....dont take it so personal....I like to see how different people react when challenged....

I'm sorry I cant stop laughing! laugh.gif

You can't just say "Pushrods make more torque". That is way too general of a statement for anyone to make. So many variables involved.

There is more to it than just "My car has more low-end torque than your's because its OHV". rolleyes.gif

Take for example this beautiful DOHC Cummins ISX diesel engine.....

It makes 1850 Ft/lbs of torque at 1200 rpm and it's a dual cam. biggrin.gif blink.gif I'm sure Cummins didnt care about low-end torque when they built that one they should have known that they could make WAY more with a pushrod rolleyes.gif

You can make a DOHC engine make much more low-end torque than a pushrod engine, and you can make more top-end horespower than DOHC engine with a pushrod one. ohmy.gif
laugh.gif

It all depends on how you want your engine to make power. cool.gif

Anyway, I hope you find that cheap beater you are looking for wink.gif

I'm out for this one, and any future ones, until I can purchase another vehicle. I don't feel that my car is up to the challenge anymore, it seems to be getting a little tired.

The course looks awesome doug! Seems to be very fast, especially in the beginning. biggrin.gif

I'd guess 35mm. They'd be sunken in more if they were 45mm.

huh.gif

Lower the offset, deeper the dish. Not the other way around laugh.gif

blink.gif

Deeper dish? Maybe "sunken in" was misconstrued. A 35mm offset will be pushed further toward the outer fender than a 45mm offset which will be sucked further in to the wheel well. A et0 wheel for instance would stick out past the fender on most 4x100 applications.

Yes, I think that we are both right, but in different ways. Yes, a lower offset will stick out farther in relationship to the fender(what you were talking about). Yes, a lower offset will be sunken in or deeper dished than a higher one, in relationship to the wheel it self(what I was thinking). So yes, we are both right, but about different things. tongue.gif

This would be a very rare moment for SCCA to actually undo a grievous error...... But, it is hard to ignore
that at this time with classing "as is", that D Stock and G Stock cars at quality events are turning basically
equivalent times. The "Works" Mini is being considered also for..... D Stock. ohmy.gif

This should open up G Stock to a wider range of potentially competitive cars.......if and when this actually happens.

Great, another vastly superior automobile placed in D Stock dry.gif

I tell you, E30's are getting worked bad unsure.gif

I'm anxious to see how the engine and exhaust mods change the tone and pitch of the engine.

biggrin.gif It was aural bliss when I took my fully ported and uncorked FC Turbo II out on the track. You won't be disappointed.

I too stayed up late playing with Kevin and Ben last night and it was so worth it. We need more autocrossers online.

I'm anxious to see how the engine and exhaust mods change the tone and pitch of the engine. The old forza had some to be desired in that aspect.

Have fun!
