Just wondering ....

Registration on "Mind the Cones" does not reflect this coming Sunday's event, it seems like the link for pre-registration is accessing the September event!

Thanks

This Tanaka Harness is a 2 inch wide set comprised of a lap belt with double shoulder belts. As it is only 2 inches wide, these belts are not FIA or SFI legal!

I got these belts with the intention of only using the lap belt in autocross events. Most stock seat belts have inertia reels which donít ďlock-upĒ and hold the driver in place very well when driving with gusto! (Not until you decelerate at a rapid rate anyway!) So adding the lap belt seemed a simple way to supplement the stock seat belts and more firmly plant butt-in-seat while still allowing a certain amount of upper body movement Ö and the price was so low it was cheaper to buy this set than just a stock type lap belt.

Anyway, plans change and while I did install the lap set in my car for a day or two, I then decided that my autocrossing days were over and removed them. They are now free if anyone wants them, they are nicely made and have the nice camlock, not latch and link, buckle.

Important Note: I must point out that unless you have a roll bar installed in your car, you should not use the shoulder belts. Harness set-ups hold the upper body near vertical and if you did roll the car (unlikely in an autocross I know) the roof could be forced down on your head. Stock belts with the single shoulder strap allow for you to move sideways avoiding neck/spine compression injuries that could be devastating.

Iím in Gilbert and retired from the daily grind so you can pick up any day, PM me for my address.

Hello:

Now that I have retired from the "daily grind," I thought I would finally have some time to do a bit of work on my aged Nissan Sentra SE-R and go see / participate in some local rallycross action ... however, I can't find any information on the 2017 schedule. The "Rally Group" webpage seems way out of date, so is there anywhere else I can look up information? Please don't say to go to some kind of weird Facebook page ... like many people I don't do "social media!"

Thanks

The plastic surrounding the dash on my 1993 Nissan Sentra SE-R is warped and cracked from many years of parking in our wonderful climate. I tried installing one of those fabric dash covers to hide the problem but it was such a lousy fit that it made the dash top look even worse!

I contemplated attempting a repair myself but the damage is pretty extensive, and my skill with that sort of work is non-existent. A google search did indicate that there are a few automotive interior repair shops in the greater Phoenix area but I wondered if anyone had any recommendations?

Thanks

Well, after several year of working around the stock hood prop on our Miata, and finding it was nearly always in the way, I bought one of those super swish hydraulic hood props .... but with all the mods under the hood of our car, it didn't fit mad.gif

So, here's the whole kit, (plus useless installation instructions!) Bought it from Moss Motors (its a Cobalt Kit) for 49.99.

Lift your hood with no effort ... all yours for $25 o.b.o.
