Got the notice that my '01 Mustang is due for emissions next month, and I have a mild tune installed.

It has never tossed any codes, and to be honest, not sure just how much it helps if any.

So....... the question is, when I go over for the OBDII Emissions test (no tailpipe), and no codes are showing, am I good? Or, should I take it out before going, and re-install later?

What says the collective wisdom of this Community? Please let me know.

Thank you. cool.gif

Greetings, yep, I'm back. All larger National SCCA Events are run strictly by Class. No factors, no calculators, all by raw times.

Just providing everyone a glimpse of how each would do if everyone chose to run by Open Class when they registered. Some of you actually have enough competitive cars to form a Class without having to resort to the PAXED or indexed Groups, but didn't realize it.

Just created to show you where you'd stand if you would ever decide to try that.

First, a two page PDF of everyone.

Yep, Tucson is starting their 2018 Spring Season too, this coming Sunday. Still time to register. Click HERE

I've personally added a few "extras" to the V-6 Mustang to try to close the gap on that pesky Cadillac V-8 I've been chasing in CAM-C for a while, but I hear he's added some to the pot too. Damn him! Just when you think you're winning the Rat Race, along come faster rats!!!! Such is life. rolleyes.gif

So, get off to a great start to the new year, and give Marana a try. You'll be glad you did. cool.gif Maybe Chuck Voboril is now out of excuses, and will make it down to this one?

Depending on where you're coming from, be aware that there are some obstacles. Plan ahead.

Hope to see many "Northerners" there. Harry? A-1 awaits you. tongue.gif Anyone else?

Well, the 2018 Season got off to a great start. We had 112 regular timed entries, and 54 Time Only entries.

Sadly, this was the last event for my Falken Azenis 615K+ tires. They gave it their all, but succumbed after *only* 113 runs. rolleyes.gif

They lived a good life, serving me and the Mustang well. I do have the next set sitting here awaiting installation (I knew the end was near), but being a budget-minded individual I shopped early for my replacement set to get the "best deal".

These were the third set of tires for the Mustang, since day one of it autocrossing (September of 2016). While I drive them also on the street (and to and from events - just too old or smart to change at the event anymore), I only put about 5000 miles total per year on the car. Most of those miles are to and from Sierra Vista or Marana for............ autocross events. tongue.gif

Set one were 245/45/17 Bridgestones. They lasted three months and 90 runs. Second set were 245/40/17 Dunlop Star Specs, they were good for 5 months and 80 runs (although took them off a little early, still had some tread left. Bought new larger wheels). These 275/40/17 Falken's expired after 7 months and 113 runs.

My fourth set next event will be Maxxis 255/40/17's. For those paying close attention, yes, four different tire makes and four different sizes. Hey, anyone can be boring and predictable. wink.gif Price is a huge consideration for me, but I also try to buy tires that score well in tire testing.

Anyway, what tires do you use, and how many runs do you get out of a set? What works for you?

Some have to run PAX Classes because there are no other in-Class cars for them to compete against. Others just prefer to have a special group to compete against.

But anyone can choose to just run their actual SCCA Open Class if they might wish to. If everyone did (like is done at all large SCCA Events), this is what that would look like. Here I left only the (2) Ladies separated out (but Ladies Classes are also an option).

Here are our results from the last event scored BY CLASS. Enjoy and ponder. cool.gif

First pic is a snapshot of page one. The PDF document below shows both pages.
