If the Governor lifts the "Stay-At-Home order on May 15 and there are no restrictions affecting outside gatherings, does the AZ Border Region plan on holding the May 17th event? Just curious and planning ahead.

I heard that AMP just became available. There's no planes parked at AMP. Maybe they could move their event to AMP.

Ok, that'll work too, I don't mind the 2 1/2 hour drive.

Is it known or just rumored that the Marana lot is covered with airplanes? If so, has the May 17 event been cancelled?

Hi Everyone,

We have been waiting until we have our monthly meeting, which was last night, to determine what was happening with our May event. At this point the May event is cancelled due to multiple reason. We don't believe the restriction on gathering with more than 10 people will be lifted by Marana before that weekend. The Marana Airport does also have as of several weeks ago, 18 American planes parked on it. The airport has been pretty straight forward to us that this was happening before it happened several months back, along with their plans for the future. Once we know more we will post this up on our website and here. They do want us to come back and have our events there.

In the meantime we are all looking forward to running again in the future. In the future there will be some operational changes. We are looking at trying to eliminate touch points between people to maintain social distancing.

To do so we are encouraging everyone to get an Annual Waiver filled out and sent in to Nationals. This will reduce touch points at the gate and registration. Please note this needs to be printed in color and either notarized or signed by SCCA official. I can sign off on these if you can not find a notary or another SCCA official willing to help out. Drop me a PM or e-mail and I can give you instructions on how to get the form to me if needed.

We have some other ideas, but the Annual Waiver does have a bit of a lead time, also including that Nationals might not have anyone in the office to handle these at the moment.

Please let me know if there are any questions. Hope everyone is staying safe, and has their car fully prepped for the next event, whenever that might be.

David Rock

Please note the following on Annual Waiver.

The Annual Waiver may be submitted via your membership renewal through an upload. Otherwise it can be sent to membership@scca.com once it is Witnessed.

In order for Nationals to accept the Annual Waiver, it must be properly executed and meet the following requirements which are set forth by our insurance/risk management.

Year must be completed in upper left corner
Submitted in Color
Signed, Dated by Member
Witnessed by an SCCA Official or Notary Public
Photo on file for member (selfie, not a car, dog or meme)

I got an email saying registration is open for the May 17 event. Was that an automated message? Is the event a go or is the event still cancelled?

Yeah, sorry about that to everyone who got the email and to the three super optimists who registered anyway. laugh.gif

It's an automated email thing and I forgot to disable the event after the board meeting this Wednesday. Yes, May 17th is cancelled. sad.gif

Last Thursday, I downloaded the Annual Waiver Form, filled it out, and I went to the UPS Store and had my signature notarized for $10.00. On Friday, I emailed it to Membership Services. Today (Sunday), I get a response back stating that my Annual Waiver was added to my Account and they need a photograph of myself. I guess the photo on my profile didn't meet their requirements so I emailed a copy of my Passport Photo to them. That didn't take long.

They have been super quick, if you follow their procedures. Scott I am still working on getting them the pdf. Maybe I should let Kenny be in charge of these.
