It doesn't look like it. We should be going for at least another couple weeks! Karts are getting noticably faster though so we're having to try harder to keep them all even.

Hey guys....the weather is PERFECT now and the karts are loving it. Lap times are down almost in the 37s. Hope to see some more of you out here next week!

Today, 9/28, is DEFINITELY not the last Arrive and Drive. We will continue to run every Wednesday until further notice. However, tonight is still the last race of the ProScore Series.

I'll put my money on RacerJake.

The other guy seems to be an asshole and hope he loses.

RacerJake is DETERMINED to win. He has raced more than any other driver by about 6 races. However, I don't think Ronald Jones will give up easily, as he is a long time Arrive and Drive contender. Should be interesting!! If they all stick around until the end of the night maybe we'll do a little championship race and take out the fastest karts from the night so they're all even or something. Either way I hope to see some AZS2 guys out there!

Hope you guys had a good time and come back again for the last race of the series! Should be interesting watching the top 3 guys race multiple times to get into 1st place for the free shifter kart course smile.gif

There were a LOT of Z06s out there, you definitely missed them smile.gif We also have CTS-V, all the SS line, new XLR, Porsches, Jags, BMW....tons of cars out there for the next two weeks. GM is doing dealer training on the new Vette (especially Z06) and the XLR. The car school is actually closed for the next two weeks due to it, but karts are still running.

The karts are all pretty darn even now so yes, I definitely think its your driving smile.gif

And how did you guys like the track being ran backwards? I think I like it better. Not sure if any of you noticed I snuck in a race at the end of the night biggrin.gif Was only my 2nd session ever running that config....good stuff.

Racing will be on Thursday JUST NEXT WEEK then will go back to Wednesdays.

Yes, I can see you spun out on the first lap due to the 53.74 lap time smile.gif Steadily got better throughout the race though going from 43s, 42s, finally down to low/mid 41s by the end. Not bad at all for your first visit and first race! Hope to see you back!

Most all the maintenance has been done to the karts so they should all be very even in speed and handling. They were all aligned and the fast and slow karts were adjusted accordingly.

Alright guys, testing on the karts is done and 2 lap average was 40.2 I believe for all the karts. Karts within .3 of this time are considered OK, ones below and above are receiving maintenance as I type this. We're doing everything we can! Help us out by bringing out your buddies and telling a friend!

#6 and #17 were the fastest karts of the bunch.

I'm not holding it against anyone. I want Arrive and Drive just as bad as you guys, I'm on your side, but when I hear them in the office talking about Arrive and Drive and I go to throw in my opinion on it, they use things like this to counter me and say why we shouldn't have it all the time.

We are NOT doing Arrive and Drive to make money. The maintenance required for the karts is extremely expensive. The whole point of having Arrive and Drive was to get people out here to Bondurant to see the facility and see what we offer and potentially get into a shifter kart course or car school course.

As for the suggestion of flaggers...there were one, possibly two, flaggers down towards snakebite when this incident occured.

Just please remember guys, you're racing the clock, not each other! If you have to lift in one turn on one lap, its not that big of a deal.

Also....we are running EACH INDIVIDUAL KART this morning with an instructor to see if there are any karts that are duds or really fast. Maintenance or carb shimming will be done accordingly to make each kart as even as possible!

I wish I could say all you did was snap a tie rod, but as I said, you totally trashed the kart. The chassis is twisted, bodywork is done for, steering shaft is bent, etc. Its about $1500 worth of damage. dry.gif This is part of the reason why its hard for us to run Arrive and Drive is because people view the karts as bumper karts just because we have the plastic around them.

I'd suggest you start working on elevating your vision because the person you hit had spun out in snakebite at least 5 seconds before you plowed him without even letting off the gas. Had you been looking further than the front wheels of the kart, this could have been easily avoided.

As for the ProScore...how many races you run is not directly linked to your ProScore. If you run 10 races a night but lose them all, you will lose plenty of points. However, if you race 3 per night and get 1-3rd the whole time, you will continuously gain ProScore.

Hey guys! Had a problem with Oskar last week and being able to even figure out who was fastest of the night! Thats why it wasn't on the site. I'm about to update the site right now with the fastest from last night as soon as Oskar gets back to me.

I wanted to address the issue of the difference in karts once again. I brought your concerns to the kart GM and we are going to go through each individual kart and make sure they are as equal in power as we can make them. This is likely the reason why last night the karts were a lot more even.

We really want to see you guys back out here so we are addressing your concerns as quickly as possible.

Highest ProScore right now is held by RacerJake with a 121.96.

mazur - Even if you did have the fastest lap, I doubt they would have let you have the shoes since you totally trashed one of the karts in the 7pm race.

EDIT: check here for results - http://www.bondurantsuperkarts.com/results.php

QUOTE (Brian Peters @ Aug 17 2005, 01:23 PM)
I had to laugh though when I finally read how the scoring's going to work.  The series winner will be based on the "Pro Score" which is easily inflated with just running more races.  So yeah, spend $500 on kart races to earn a *free* $300 shifter kart class.  rolleyes.gif

Do we have to be present at the end of the night to win the free shoes, etc

That is not completely true. Its more like the more races you race the better CHANCE you have of raising your ProScore. One guy last night did 3 races and ended up at 101.xx, only a little over one point from where he started. Its a complicated formula used to determine ProScore.

No, you don't have to be present. It will be announced on the front page of the website within the next two days (which I need to do!).

As for the karts speeds....we try our best to keep them "even" but it is impossible to have them all run perfectly even, even with all new motors. And throughout the night if someone takes a sick digger out through the dirt and gets the filter plastered with dirt and debris, that will slow it down slightly too. We try our best to keep them even!

Are you talking about the shifter kart courses or the Arrive and Drive?

Arrive and Drive is on our .5 mile 14-turn Briggs and Stratton track.

Shifter kart courses are held on our shifter kart track. To see an outline of the track, go to http://www.bondurantsuperkarts.com and look at the two track outlines on the top image...its the less twisty of the two. You might have seen your buddy doing his shifting exercise which is up and down the straight away to get used to counting your gears? Not sure. But I can guarantee you that when you're in the shifter kart it feels a LOT different than watching!

Also, for those that haven't seen, check out a video of one of our shifter karts vs. one of our Z06 Vettes....very interesting wink.gif

P.S. - NO, I am NOT a salesman tongue.gif

Hey guys! Hope to see you all out here at Bondurant for the ProScore Series!

To clarify some things...

The Arrive and Drive stuff is in our 50mph ProKarts. Our karts are definitely faster than the indoor places and its on a 1/2 mile real outdoor track.

The person at the end of the series who has the highest ProScore, which is a calculation based on your lap times and how you do against others in your races, gets a free 3hr Ultimate Shifter Kart Course which is NOT driving a shifter kart around in a circle! The course is about 15 minutes of instruction, then a 15 minute shifting exercise out on track, then the rest is track time.

And don't forget, every night we will be giving away FREE Piloti driving shoes and a Bondurant shirt to the quickest lap of the night, 2nd quickest lap gets a free Bondurant t-shirt. And don't worry if you're 3rd or 4th fastest cause its likely that the fast guy will be back the next week, and since he can't win twice, the prizes will start to trickle down to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th fastest guys by the end of the series I would guess.

Hope to see ya guys out there! If you want to pass the word along to other local guys you can link them to http://www.bondurantsuperkarts.com/arriveanddrive.html

Thanks!

-Jeremy
