Tuesday update:

The speech therapist asked Kris what month it is and he nodded that he didn't know. When she told him July, he said, "Wow"! The speech therapist is working on 'ah' and 'oh' with Kris. Kris did tell Joy that he loves her. That is a WOW!

He had a surgery yesterday taking out a dialysis tube.

Kris is more alert, they were talking about sitting him in a chair for awhile.

The Scooby club is talking about a fund raiser at a Peter Piper Pizza. Nothing has been finalized.

The next hurdle is coming on Friday. A decision has to be made if they will be amputating Kris's toes (or more). The blood circulation just hasn't gotten to his feet. (his fingers don't look good either)

It's going to be a l-o-n-g journey for Kris.

Joy once again, thanks everyone for their love, prayers, and the donations. She is so worried that she hasn't been able to do the thank yous herself. I have told her that she needs to concentrate on Kris, herself and the kids!!

Does anyone have any kind of fun stories about themselves and Kris that you would post? I think it would be a boost for Kris when Joy reads them to him.

Keep those thoughts and prayers for Kris and his family!
Bev

Kris,

It's been a long time since I've whored these AZSolo Forums... it's been even longer since I've actually autocrossed my car. But I can still remember those days of getting up early and working Registration with you and Geren. Well... I shouldn't call it working but more like recovering from the night before and just doing whatever tasks you guys needed me to do. You're an awesome guy and I'm glad to see some hope. 10% is not much, but as you know me by now, "10% more" is always a good thing!

We love you man

My only story about Kris is that for my first year, I managed to screw up online registration for almost every event, yet he still took the time and the hassle to find me a slot to run in for Time Only runs. I really did not know how much of a pain that was until my wife, Colleen, started working registration. He really went out of his way to give me a break. Way way beyond cool. He just isn't a good man, he is a very good man. Get well Kris, I am pulling for you.

Great news about your progress, Kris! I am SO happy to hear about your continuing recovery and am confident we will see you out there again one day, smiling and cheerful, as always, and driving like a maniac!

I can personally remember just about every time I have talked with Kris. He ALWAYS has a smile on his face, and is friendly and has the greatest attitude, that I often envy, to tell the truth. Talking about cars, the course that day, and even driving the Miata, and the one time I got to drive the Maroon Suby. (Would that be a Maruby?) It was my first try with an all wheel drive car, and Kris and I were laughing all the way around the course. It was great fun! After the run, he said, "I think you could adjust to this kind of car pretty well, if you wanted to." Well, that led to other all wheel drive rides and inspired me to get the AllTrac going, and running at an event or two. That got Team Wrinkles motivated enough to spend quite a few days getting the 'Trac running right and sorting the suspension, only to have a bearing go on us, BUT, we'll fix that and bring it out again!

So, my memories of Kris are all good ones, and I am looking forward to more of those! By the way, Kris, if you want "Ruby" exercised every now and then, you just let me know! Heehee. Continued recovery, and all the best! Always. We all miss ya and love ya, and hope to see you soon!!! Fight the good fight, young man. biggrin.gif

Keep fighting and improving, Kris. This is an unbelievable nightmare for anybody to have to go through and also so unexpected. Looks like you are going to show us all that even the most horrible situations can be overcome. I'm impressed with your spirit and fight. Keep at it!... smile.gif

Your fight makes the little day-to-day "battles" that we seem to bitch about appear as so trivial.... unsure.gif You are a true fighter and hero!

Sorry guys, have been out on a trip for the last week or so. I have not yet been able to see Kris now that he is awake as he does not want any visitors which is VERY understandable. I have nothing new to report that has not already been reported, thanks Bev! Thanks so much for the donations you have given to his Wife!!! They have helped her out so much!

Kris,

None of us can understand all that you and your family are going through, but we are here to help and support you, from positive thoughts and prayers to help with cooking meals or whatever you need!

Just keep getting better, healthier and stronger every day, whether it's big gains or just a little, every inch toward improvement is the best news we can possibly hear!

I'm looking forward to the day when you are out of the hospital!

~Greg

Kris,

Greg expressed what I have been thinking. I cannot even begin to understand how things look to you right now. However, Greg is right, many of us want to help our bud, our friend, as much as possible. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.

Also, even though some of the news isn't great, what is great is that you are still with us and will continue be with us. Keep strong and keep getting better.

Kevin

It's 8:40 a.m. -- Tuesday -- Joy just called me.

Kris has an infection in the lungs. When Joy or anyone else goes in to be with Kris, they have to be in a gown and mask.

He can change the channels on the tv and press the 'call button', and grab the railing on the bed.

The kids got to see him on Sunday for the first time.

Now, I hope I have this correct. Kris is scheduled for surgery this afternoon. They are going to amputate his toes to mid-foot.

Please keep those positive thoughts and prayers going for Kris and his family!
