Make it if you can! It's looking to be in the high 60's with scattered cones and a chance of burnouts.
We can really use support of all our friends to keep these events going.

In case there is any Phoenix autocrosser looking for something a little extra special, you might want to consider driving to Sierra Vista this weekend for a special autocross treat. It is the ONLY venue in Arizona that offers primo airport concrete at the SV Municipal Airport. Serious grip.

Won't sugercoat it, it is a goodly amount of driving to get there. In my youth I did do this in one day, but just don't have that intensity anymore. Not like you younger guys, anyway. wink.gif

If you really can't afford (yet) one of the larger SCCA National Tour Events (drive way out of state for two days of competition), this is a very close experience to that. And a LOT less expensive. And closer. Lots. wink.gif

So, Glenda and I "Hotel It" in SV (about $70/night), leave NW Glendale about 1:00pm Saturday afternoon, and usually arrive about 4:00pm. Unpack, stretch, and walk to dinner at Outback. Walk back to the Days Inn, rest and relax. TV. Sleep. Like that. cool.gif

Get up the next morning, drive to breakfast (Denny's), go back to the hotel, pack up, head to the event. It's on the way back to Phoenix. Handy. tongue.gif

There is very good competition in SV, and a number of the Phoenix-area top drivers typically attend, because of the cement experience. Did I mention the high-level grip? One run in SV wears your tires like two runs at AMP or Marana. At least.

We usually make it back home between 3:00 and 4:00, depending on if we do TO's or not.

Weather this weekend looks outstanding, great people and site, and usually some breakfast cookies are found around the Registration Table. popcorn.gif

Anyway, think on it. Again, do something special for you (and yours? Yes, take her too).

Hope to see you there. beer.gif

So, I hear SV is a fun and happenin' place.

No snow.
Sunny skies.
Fresh air.
Friendly people.
Scott's buying the beer.
Scott's buying the beer?
Woooo!

Okay, I gotta ask...
Does SVPD still have a BOLO on me?
Or is all forgiven?

For those planning on Sierra Vista this weekend, looks like there is some roadwork, depending on your path. Be aware.

Harry, I think SVPD is still looking for that blue turbo Miata, so they may not recognize you now! We'd love to see you back. Scott's just in it for the cookies.
