Just got a private Email from someone in New Mexico that there IS an Event this coming weekend on Oct 7 after all.
"Mind the Cones" also has pre-registration available on line

Still nothing official on SV web site, however.

Scott,
My query was supposed to have a question mark but once you start a topic, you cannot change the title.
I even sent a request to the admin for this site to delete or change the title once I saw how it would look.

In any case, it would help those who have to drive 5 or 6 hours to get some sort of official word on whether an event will happen or not.
I guess there is some sort of little private email daisy chain but it doesn't help the unwashed general public like me any.

There is nothing about an event this weekend on the Sierra Vista site.
Shouldn't that be where one looks first in order to plan?
Sorry if this topic upset you.
That's what happens when old dummies like me type and hit "send" without thinking.

Well then, that makes perfect sense. Like the time I posted an ad for one of my cars, and put the darn price IN THE TITLE!!!! I'll never do that again.

I too have noted the lack of advertising when these events at their Municipal Airport are supposed to happen, so I've resorted to emailing Gene S personally for proprietary information about such upcoming events. The best-kept secret in town, this is.

My struggle is that we have an AMP Event the same day, as as of this exact moment my Weather app shows Sierra Vista with *NO* chance of rain Sunday, while locally it is around 50%. Talk about conflicted........

Sorry I over-reacted. I'd try to play the age card here, but then we're in the same boat, so that excuse would not fly. tongue.gif

So, there is a good chance you will see Glenda and I there too, along with Ted. I'm waiting until the final weather report tomorrow before I pull that trigger. cool.gif

(I too emailed the moderators to change your title.......)

PS: Did you see this? It's been up for a while, from their Site:

Looked 4 times between yesterday afternoon and this morning.
Maybe shoulda taken a screen shot.

Now I don't know for sure if I should have seen it or not.
The 2 buttons are definitely easy to find now.

Scott, I especially appreciate ur help to us all.

On to much better things to do now in my happy little thread....

Nice SSM? car that should come to a real event (solo) instead of bumping around Willow Springs.

I never saw any request for a topic change, and I've been out of town so hadn't read this thread. Topic is now changed.

biggrin.gif Love this!!

There has been serious talk by some about whether an Opel would be legal in CAM or not...and I'm aware of at least 2 currently under construction.

Good news, traffic looks unencumbered for this weekend, for those partaking of the SV Autocross Sunday at their Municipal Airport.
That, as well as very little chance of rain there. Phoenix is all morning at over 50%. Guess where I'm going?

Will that Opel be there? cool.gif

Note to Gene and others in SV - Would be great to publish an announcement of your events here a week or so in advance. Would likely help build your attendance some. Not everyone checks autocross calendar dates as maniacally as I do....... rolleyes.gif tongue.gif wink.gif

(Note that they will have another Autocross in November there too, Sunday November 11th.)

Scott, Thanks for map. Route awareness can sure save some time.
Brian, I sent a request using the contact admin or moderator facility originally. Something like that anyway.
Definitely not your Email
I guess we should contact you directly since "admin" or "moderator" stuff goes into the ether.

Lance, that is neat that a larger variety of car is being considered for CAM.
I reckon if the old GM Vega and Monza variations are ok, the "other" GM stuff that was imported or not imported like Opel (Vauxhall in England) ought to be too.
In stock form, those cars were not especially light-with a V8, most were probably as heavy or heavier than an early Fox bodied Mustang.
The V8 Chevy Monza's based on the Vega were still around 3200 lbs and in stock config. actually slower than the Mustang from the factory.
As you probably know, we have a lot of rod meets here in Prescott and Prescott Valley.
One of my favorite cars is a Cosworth Vega in original black and gold trim that got a V8 transplant.

A Swiss hillclimb video I just cannot watch enough is of Hovemann Holger's V8 Opel Kadett.
Chebbie LT5 fitted with flat crank and well north of 700 HP
https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=v8+kad...E&FORM=VIRE
Imagine a car about the same size and a few 100 lbs more weight as Mark Huffman's DM Elan with 2.7 x the HP.
A lot of European hillclimb classes have no min weight- but do require full FIA cages.
Some stills of a German GM Opel that was badged a Monza over there and some stills of the V8 Opel Kadett

I'll have to check on that Chuck, because I know the 'report' functionality sends us emails, so maybe that contact thing is not working. Thanks for letting me know.

I too checked "Report" and asked that the Title be changed.

Upon checking the Website, it appears that only Lawson moderates those requests for this specific Forum?

I can't find anything in the administration of the forum for having reported posts only PM the moderator, but maybe when Ben set it up he managed to get it to do that, I honestly don't know. I just know that normally when a post is reported I get a PM, and for whatever reason when Chuck used that function (assuming that's how he did it? I don't really know) I did not get a PM to bring it to my attention.

In theory, since all "Admin" are also considered moderators (to all subforums), it should have gone to all three admins in addition to the subforum moderator, and I can't figure out any way to change that functionality, although it certainly may exist, I haven't spent a huge amount of time researching it.

If you have not noticed the results were posted a couple days ago.
Also, yes the Corvette Club beat us out scheduling the Nov. 4 event. The event is now scheduled for Nov. 11 pending the official SV approval.

Yep, I watch eagerly for the results and had found them. Thx for getting them out so quickly (if it was you, whomever you are.... wink.gif )

(Please add a signature line to your account so we get to know you)

I had spoken to Gene, and knew of the November 11th date. But then, I watch all the Club dates carefully, trying to cram in as much fun as possible. tongue.gif

By the way, who does the SV results? I'd like to ask if there is any way to NOT post them in PDF format? I do a copy/paste/resort and save into straight Class order, and it is complicated to do so with a PDF format. Please? cool.gif

Thanks again for sharing.

Hey, Randy. Thank you. Appreciate the info.

If Adam needs specifics on what I'm asking for, just have him contact me directly. Here's a copy of how I save the results......always by Open Class.

I do this for ALL Event results, Phoenix and Tucson too. Doing the Copy, Paste, Re-sort is very difficult when published in PDF form. wink.gif
