Sorry for the late post but most of you are already registered for this weekend. If you are new or have not attended before then the details are here.

http://www.azbrscca.org/autocross/awesome.html

Looking forward to seeing everyone over this weekend. Registration is open. Be sure to register for both days. There are two registration links, one for Saturday and one for Sunday.

Thanks for posting all of the details. A fantastic opportunity to sample what a typical SCCA Tour Weekend would be like, just hundreds of miles closer to home. And, hundreds of dollars cheaper, too. cool.gif

That, and in typical SCCA Tour Events, one absolutely must be a member to participate. But since this is a local version, those temporary memberships are still available so all can enter. Membership entries are still the lower cost alternative, but at least you can "try before you buy" kind of. wink.gif

Close enough to Phoenix that one could perhaps drive down for both days, but a Motel room is around $60 - $80 or so, which for some worth the cost to just stay nearby.

So, if you've never attended a special two day SCCA Event, give this some thought. You could enter just one day or the other, you do NOT need to enter both days. Saturday would be a "stand-alone" event, Sunday is part of the Tucson Fall Series. But, Tucson will also score as they would for a real two-day Tour just for the fun of it. I like to pretend this is the "Arizona State Championship Event", where one could (theoretically) declare themselves "State Champion" of their respective class.

Hope to see more than a few "out-of-towners" there. You'll be glad you did. beer.gif

EDIT: Here is the promised road work report. A few things to pay attention to, Sunday afternoon going north especially (#4).

Hello everyone, I've spend a couple of hours reading through the forum and website. Have a couple of questions to get started.

Can I attend Saturday as a spectator/volunteer and Drive Sunday? (I want to get a feel for the event, and the people.)

Do Spectators pay for entry to the event, or to ride along? (My understanding is they don't, but require a helmet and have to sign the waiver.)

I feel like I know the answers from reading around, but just want to make sure. I guess nervousness as this would be my first event of this kind.

Thanks,

Manny

Hi Manny.

Spectators are always free, everyone must sign the waiver at the gate. I'm sure volunteers would be appreciated, but not my decision. So my guess, yes.
You can ride along (don't ask on final runs wink.gif ), but must sign some extra papers. I do not recall if that form costs the Temp membership fee or not, I do not know that. Probably not. The Club does have loaner helmets, if yours is not up to date.

Hope you signed up for Sunday in pre-registration. If not, still OK, just a few bucks extra. Come early.

The Tucson Crew is very "user-friendly", with lots of good help, access, and advice available.

Will look for you there tomorrow. Come by and say Hi. smile.gif

Thanks for posting the results... Im pretty sure the TO time for Mike Hitt is a mistake.

I also wanted to thank Dave and everyone else involved in putting this event on. I had a great time and will be back to visit Marana again for sure.

Thanks to AZBR for a fun Saturday. Its great to see an AZ event pull so many friends from neighboring states.

Mike Hitt's 60.4 was my missing 3rd comp run, if it matters at this point.

We don't have the Saturday sheets as they got left in the truck this afternoon. So we will have to recheck them when we get them.
Sunday results have been posted. Results are provisional.
Sorry for the timing issues in D, but it seems that everyone got all their timed runs.

Gene Sanders ran the same B Street Boxster S both days. Sunday incorrectly shows his STR Miata. Guess he forgot to change his MTC entry info. Thx. smile.gif

Great event on Sunday everyone! I especially like the fact that I won the Novice Class! Sadly though, since I have been autocrossing for something like 42 years now, my competition times should probably be moved over to the PAX class. <big grin> - Chuck Hanson, Sideways Focus ST

We thought you were a bit suspect. I will make the Change.

Gene's class and car have been updated.
