QUOTE (Dave H @ Jun 25 2019, 09:53 AM) *
Changes to local categories:
In order to simplify things, we will be reducing the number of local categories, starting with the fall series. The new structure will be as follows:
- Open
- Sportsman (pax based)
- Novice (pax based)
- Ladies (pax based)

The above is pretty straight forward in an absolute mess of classing and rules. Tucson runs it this way; run open or run pax'd against everyone else.

Also, was there any discussion about requiring pre-registration and pre-pay only? I see registration get bombarded with onsite paperwork and long lines, seem frustrating to all involved. Maybe include a link to an electronic weekend only membership form so that can be eliminated onsite as well.

Weekend memberships are going to be changing... they will be done through Motorsports reg now, along with a requirement to prepay. The hope is this should drastically reduce the amount of work that has to be done for onsite registration.

Eliminating the onsite weekend membership paperwork would make things run much smoother for us. By doing this would riders need to sign up ahead of time electronically as well?

No, we will still have paper forms onsite for people who register on site or for passengers. Preregistrations should be required to add a weekend membership when they register if they do not have an scca membership already.
