Hey AZ folks,

Registration is open for the Mineral Wells ProSolo on June 4th-5th. We had a bunch of AZ friends come out last year and it was great seeing everyone...I hope we can make it two years in a row! Mineral Wells is a MASSIVE site with pro courses that are usually over 40 seconds. You won't find another Pro that has courses bigger than this one! Last years MW Pro and Solo Nationals east course designer Vivek Goel has been charged for this years course design. His maps are typically very open with lots of high-risk, fast elements.

Beside that, Texas Region SCCA puts on a BBQ on Friday and the city of Mineral Wells caters dinner on Saturday. There is always FREE BEER on tap after runs are complete.

I really hope to see my old AZ friends again here in TX. Head over to http://www.scca.com/events/1981912-2...wells-prosolo/ to register!

Edit: No idea how that 6 popped into the title. Must have been automatic.

Anywhere to store a car/trailer for the week prior to the event?

Maybe. I only have a two car garage but could easily park outside. The trailer is the hard part...

Yes it is! The site is open 24 hours. That being said, there is virtually no lighting around the paddock so make sure you bring a headlamp or something of that nature. There is very little light pollution in Mineral Wells so it makes for a lovely night of star gazing! And...the occasional night autocross.

Off topic, but worth the story: Night autocrossing at MW is the most exciting and terrifying thing. They set the course out at 3-4pm and runs begin at 6pm. The sun sets around 8pm and its pitch black by 9pm. To see the cones, they mark the left side of a gate with a red glow stick and the right side of a gate with a green glow stick (like boat lights). To help see the gates, you drive with your parking lights on but not your full headlights. Adding to the batshit craziness is the BMW club who puts it on...their maps are notorious for having top of 3rd gear straights going into 90* pinches. They do timing but no one cares because you can't tell if you DNF or not.

Congrats to Deana for winning her class and winning the Ladies Challenge! Not sure if any other AZ folks won trophies, but nobody else brought me victory champagne to drink, so you don't matter as much. tongue.gif

Way to go, Deana!!! biggrin.gif

I did the same thing in 1991 at the Phoenix Pro Solo in our MGB. It's quite the rush!!! The beer afterwards was just as tasty as your champagne.....

Deana;

Congrats again on your success at lincoln and mineral wells. You have shown for many years you have the talent, now in a car that suits you well, all that is being shown.
Travis, the tranny looked pretty good in the passenger seat. You may have lost your traveling seat.

If you've never turned on your wipers in a Miata accidently while on the autocross course, you are going too slow! smile.gif
