this looks fun. and relatively close. do you have a schedule planned out for these practice sessions, or is it just whenever you guys all decide to go out? I wouldn't mind checking this out sometime.

Awesome to hear! After being in bed like that for so long, it takes so much to get up right again, this is a big step. Hang in there man, solid food, no trach and standing are HUGE achievements.

My GC Subaru Bro... I am speechless. He is definitely as people have described here, and more. Way more.

Get well.

The reason I became interested in HPDE was Time Attacks becoming part of events a few years ago. The idea of lapping a track is fun, but adding the competition side is what really attracted me. I have attended a few, but not enough to move to DE3 and actually run a time attack. I did do one at Arroyo Seco in New Mexico (oh yeah) but my budget has limited me to Solo events mainly.

So, yeah, having an event like this would be really cool. I would def be interested.

No problem, it's always fun giving people rides. Next time I'm out there (not sure if I will be for March) I'll ride along with you if possible. I'm not the best teacher, but I'll offer up anything I can.

Brian's right, I still have the Koni Sports on my car. They are the insert style, where you have to cut apart your existing stock struts and use the the Koni as the "guts". They are so much better than the KYB's I had previously. I ruined those within a year or so. I also have Ground control springs/collars and top mount camber/caster plates. The car turned from super sketchy/chase it around the course to planted and much easier to drive fast.

As far as I know, the struts are the same on 95-01 Imprezas, so the 2wd/awd/RS/L etc should be the same. The only difference I know is the ABS models have an extra tab for the ABS sensor wire. Not a big deal and you could make your own clip out of zip ties. You may want to look in the suspension forums on RS25.com and/or NASIOC.com.

One of the reasons I signed up was BECAUSE I thought it was going to rain, and I'm glad I did. It's been a while since I've made it out to an event-last spring I believe-so I was really stoked to make it to this one. It was like getting a rally-x and auto-x all in one day, minus all the dirt getting all over and in my car wink.gif

The course was fun, the conditions made it interesting and it was cool to see people I haven't talked to in a long time.

I considered driving to the track on them, but it's about 30 miles, so no. ha. I may run open in the spring.

Chad's calling you out, come play in ST1. Have fun getting used to street tires again though.

I'm in. I was going to run SM open, but just not feeling motivated to change wheels at the events. Plus, I get another shot at Mr. Mize. I'll dustoff my Hankooks RS212's and see if I can give them and Chad a final beat down.

Then I'll see what Greg has, and I'll buy those if they are fast biggrin.gif

You know Mustafa? I met that guy at a QT by my house and ended up talking to him for like 20 mins about Rally!

As Geren said, we did have a short run of about 8 events maybe? We had a rally-x at PFR in 01. I ran that event with my Impreza with the cardboard temporary plate still on it. That's what I wanted to do with the car before I even bought it. The ones up in vegas (when they don't get cancelled) are the best. If anyone is willing to drive up and never have your car be clean again, do it. It's worth it. I went up for the event that coincided with the SW Subaru/SEMA meets. Good stuff.

IF the series here had been able to continue, I would still be doing it. I can't speak for other makes, but my Subaru with stock everything handled rally-x quite well, the suspension is tough and the alignment stayed true until I started messing with it for Solo.

My car now a days is not as tough, being lower than stock, has less travel, and is setup for track and auto-x, so I'm not sure if I'd be able to run it much. If the surface was at least as good as a dirt road—packed, no ruts and no jumps—I'd give it a shot.

Have fun in Laughlin!

I plan to be at the CRA event. I will either be riding along with my stepson, or hopefully driving my car if I have an intercooler on the car by then.

I'm running in SM now and I personally don't mind, but maybe cause I ran a particular car with a few pieces missing from inside myself... unsure.gif So I may be biased. Maybe some of the other drivers will chime in.

I would rather have another driver in the class personally.

Do you still have the pieces that are missing?

Yeah, so who is running SM open this season?

Me-either a 240sx or Impreza "RS"
TJ-Boosted Focus
Kastner-Impreza RS
Geren-STi? or is it ST1 again?
Greg R-STi

Anyone else?

CSP Open? that would be cool.

We'll see how interesting I can make it, both are pretty interesting without me already.

Word. I hate summer, except when I'm in my pool.

Well Dan, I'm sorry to say that I am leaving STX. I now have some R Tires so I am moving to DSP for Sept. After that, I plan to be in SM.

You going to run in STX Kevin?

Heat? It's only going to be 99' at the 11am pack-up time. These will be cooler than the May event.....

Weather Forecast

Yeah, I am a wuss when it comes to the heat, I'll admit.
