Many of us have gotten the reminders from Mind The Cones about Registration opening, and now, about to close.

This is the second event of their Spring 2019 Series, always providing a good time and experience with your car. Relatively close to the Greater Phoenix area, only about one hour south of Firebird/Wild Horse Pass. I'm in North Glendale, and for me about one hour forty-five minutes. Glenda and I both attend.

These are great experiences for both husband AND wives. Teaches driver control and safety, that does translate very well to driving on the road in any car. Glenda (Wife) has no trouble what-so-ever following the courses in Tucson.

And looks like too that the roads should unencumbered this weekend. Thank you weather.

Hope to see many of you there. Go HERE for all of the necessary information.

Yes, the 2019 season begins anew this coming Sunday at Marana. All of the new 2019 PAX factors click in, as well as any other changes folks have made over the recent holidays. I'm sure a few new course designs are in the works, too.

Good news is that there are not a lot of obstacles on the highways impeding your journey there.

Hope to see lots of new folks out this new year.

Registration closes later today Click HERE to do that, and then HERE for all the event details.

Everyone...... just spoke at length with the owner of Toso's.

First, the Restaurant is open, and doing normal business. As normal as it can be after all of this notoriety. No one at the bar, or associated with ownership, has been charged with anything. If they were, they would IMMEDIATELY lose their Liquor license. They did not.

What I have been told (AKA: "As the story goes....") is that there has been an ongoing investigation of like a "Bookie", who has been under scrutiny for some time for running an illegal gambling operation. He has been prosecuted before, and not convicted. This is another attempt by the State to catch him.

He has been operating "clandestinely" at Toso's location, without the knowledge or cooperation of anyone associated with the restaurant. Kind of like, "under the table".

OUR BRUNCH IS FINE. Everything will occur as planned.

Any questions or concerns, please post ASAP here.

This will be the first local Solo Event of the 2019 Season. Click HERE for all event details.

Santa may have brought you some "neat stuff" for your ride, or you may need something else to do besides watch sports on TV. In any case, consider yourself invited to this coming weekends "season opener" at Arizona Motorsports Park. If you have a safe (and reasonably quiet) car, we have a Class for you. We also have loaner helmets, real bathrooms, ample parking, and lots of experienced help for those newer to this sport.

While Membership is required, if you are not (yet) a full member, we offer "Weekend Temporary Memberships" still on paper forms at the track site. Soon, SCCA will be moving to an easier to use online system, once they figure out how to do that. tongue.gif The Temp Membership does cost an extra $10.

So go to "Mind The Cones" to register (HERE), establish an account, enter the necessary information, and pre-enter. Avoid a line at the event site on the day of. cool.gif If any part of that process is unclear, ask here for help (post your questions).

So, give us a try. There is no safer way to play with your car, and become a better driver, all at the same time.

Again, any questions about any of this, post your questions here. You will get an answer.

(Still a little nervous? Come on out and watch for free.)

Hope to see you there. popcorn.gif

Corrected two errors. (Updated).

2019 Arizona Autocross Calendar
(Phoenix/Tucson/Sierra Vista)

I have always enjoyed playing with cars. All the way back to my 16th birthday (57 years ago). Talk about a life-long hobby. This is certainly one of those. cool.gif

So below is every "local" known autocrossing opportunity for this coming year. I believe in supporting all autocross Clubs whenever possible, because the healthier they are, the more opportunities we will have to play with our cars. We’ve invested some time and effort, and probably some money into our play cars, so why not use them as many times as possible?

Granted, Sierra Vista for us northern folks is a goodly distance away, and not available for most on any regular basis. But, once in a while, why not plan a special day or weekend and make it happen?

I try to make all Phoenix and Tucson events, and as many Sierra Vista Municipal Airport events as I can. My wife Glenda joins me in those events, as it is fun for us together, and the transference of improved driving skills to the street is unmistakable. Think in terms of being a better, safer driver.

So here you are. Hope you too will make as many as you can fit into your automotive and family calendars.
