ok what about the lot south of the stadium, i dont think its owned by the stadium. i think the guy who owns the farm field owns that one. i think he just made it to make some big money for superbowl. that south lot wasnt there untill like 1 month before the superbowl and then i have never seen it used since. ps. i live right up the road so i see it like every day.

The south lot is oiled gravel........Would not work for a solo event.

Yeah, the lightpoles are a disaster at the fairgrounds. I live less than 1/2 mile from there and thought of it a while back. Then I remembered.

The super-cool place I've seen is that far north parking lot at University of Phoenix Stadium (pretty much right next to Glendale and the 101). It's huge and has no light poles. Must be overflow parking.

That said, I'm not complaining.

this spot is huge! i have been thinking to myself every time i pass it. "why dont they try for this place" there is also one south of the stadium it not as big but its really flat and clean asphalt. not poles at all! also if you into rally cross the over flow lot just on the west side of the 101 is hugh and pretty smooth and all clean dirt. no rocks of any other crap.

For the nth time, we have contacted the stadium. We can have the lot if we rent the whole stadium. Would you be willing to pay over $100 for an autocross event??? I didn't think so.

I keep in touch with the rental contact person. They WANT to rent out the lots as they KNOW how much $$$$$$$ (yes 7 dollar signs, a stadium in the DC area takes in way over $1,000,000 a year in ride & drive, autox, etc rental of the stadium lots) they can make ...

Several reasons do not allow the rental of the lots from the Cardinals themselves to the City of Glendale and the zoning of the land that the stadium sits on

Trust me, if they could, they would be.

This thread should be stickied, it seems like we all have to reply 2-3 times per year ....

Another call just placed as it has been 6 months since I spoke with them (her) last.

What about the Raymond Keliss high school parking lot? The University of Phoenix Stadium uses it for general parking at Cards games. It's huge, free of light poles and the surface is pretty good as well. If someone already mentioned this site, I appologize in advance. I didn't see it mentioned in this thread.

I submitted that site back when they first built it as an overflow lot, and I know it was not available at the time, but it certainly might be worth looking into again, who knows what might have changed. It sure looks like a nice site.

Wasn't GM Proving grounds recently sold??

They've got a NICE, HUGE skidpad!

I wish Chrysler didn't sell their Proving Grounds, as I probably could have gotten you guys in there. A bit of a hike, but not bad for a 1000x900 foot pad.

Not sure what has been investigated in the past, but does anyone recall if inquiries were made about this location? It is in NE Mesa and I was told by someone who lives in the area that it is possibly a police or fire department training pad.

It's a police training pad, has been checked out in the past. I believe the issue is that it's not allowed to be used on weekends due to noise concerns.

Ask your friend that lives near to convince all his neighbors to not care about noise! laugh.gif

We should approach them with our 93dB noise guarantee in hand.

Can't imagine that there would be a noise issue. Industrial to the east and groves to the west? If so, I think Alan might have some Hayabusa mufflers for sale! tongue.gif

IN the light of financial difficulties, maybe the city might reconsider its position.

The only issue I see could be that BIG house just to the south/west of it...

"Buffy, did you hear a noise?" "Darling, it's hard for me to hear anything while I'm chewing on my truffles."

There does not look to be too much residential in the area. Falcon Field Airport is not far away, about one mile.

The size is nice at about twice FIR. There looks to be some kind of training marks/cones on the surface.
