I'll let Edd Brady know you posted those photos, Brian. Thanks!

He is in the process of building a Lotus Elan into a 26R replica, and still has MIGBA.

Thanks for the memory jog. It's hard to realize it is no longer around. One man's treasure, another man's trash.

Hey, Edd, what happened to that race truck?

I sold it to Wiggy when we down-sized in 2006 because I had no place to keep it. He took it to New Mexico and ran it in some open track event(s). Wiggy sold it to fund some sort of rally-cross venture. The new owner spun a rod bearing at an open track. He said he tried to drive it home, but the motor seized. Years later I enquired about trying to salvage it, but he indicated he had more important things to do and had "liquidated it".

I see first name of Steve Ryan.
I worked with a Steve Ryan 30 yrs ago.
Gotta be same guy. He was into autocross way back then.
He was running a Maroon Vega Station wagon.

At work we were doing tire testing. In lot of cars was a prototype Saleen
Mustang. Autocross course set up. I took one lap and beat Steve’s best time.
He tried n tried never went faster. Huge stroke of luck I guess.

Good ole days.

Yes, it was that Steve Ryan. Timeline is about right.

"Infamous" for playing with Vegas initially, his last car was a venerable Corvette that he autocrossed with great gusto.

Favorite memory was when the guys placed a remote control car under one apex pylon, and when Steve approached, they moved it........ laugh.gif wink.gif tongue.gif

Very good ol' days. cool.gif

Fun stuff! Figured it had to be him. Have not seen him since
1987-88

He often worked on the Vega after hours.
Handy dandy drive on scales.

We called him the dummy guy...
He was one who set up crash dummies for accident
Reconstruction. I helped prep cars & sometimes helped him
Set dummies in car or truck. Once we set up two on a
Harley and sent it into a pickup truck.
