btw, did anyone notice that the guy selling the M3, has Fred's Lotus as his avatar? I think it's Fred's car..

Freds monster was sold a long time ago wink.gif

I have a Silver 99M3 with 54.8K miles on the clock right now. It has Hartge wheels and the extremely rare adjustable Hartge spoiler.

EDIT: I Forgot all the Dinan stuff, it has the Dinan exhaust, Dinan CAI, Dinan STB and Dinan software all factory installed. The Dinan trunklid badge is still unmounted, I just have to look for it wink.gif

PM me if it's something you'd be interested in Brady.

Would you consider trades (+$$) for a '99 M3 (5SP) with 54K miles on the clock?
Hartge wheels, Hartge adjustable spoiler and Factory Dinan S1 package.

Thanks for the incredibly quick service today Dan.

The tires are balanced perfectly, absolutely zero vibrations. I've had discount tires try twice before to balance these and they still had some vibrations.

I have a slight problem with rubbing, if it get's too bad, you'll see me back with a new set in a couple of weeks smile.gif

Thanks Brian.

I did run or use them in all the time I owned them either, they just sat around in my garage with no exposure to the sun at all.

There are no cracks and the rubber is pretty decent as you can probably tell from the pictures.

Actually, I think I will just drill a hole in the exhaust pipe and use the provided bung to mount the O2 sensor.... rolleyes.gif

Yeah, the bung is the best way to go with it, besides, assuming you have cat's, you would not get true engine AFR and also run into post calibraton errors depending on the placement, no?. With the bung, you can now hook it up to an on board meter to see realtime what your AFR is wink.gif

Thanks for the tip on the LMA-2, I did not know it came with four additional ports.

You already have a "E30-330i", I'm guessing you've crammed an S50 in there?

Thanks Mazur, that's where I saw it too. Yeah, from what everyone says about it, it seems like it can be used for a dyno tune as well (not for the initial tune though, guess there's no substitute for a real dyno there). I was wondering if someone outside of that forum had found any real use for it, I really don't want/need another gizmo collecting dust on my garage shelves. Are you in the GB?

FWIW, the GB on bimmerforums will discount the price by 20% or $100 for a total price of $400 if there are 25 or more people on the list.

It seems like it basically uses satellite triangulation to calculate 0-60 Speed, 1/4 mile, lap times and WHP(?), FWHP (??) .. etc

More info here:
http://www.vboxusa.com/performancedrift/performancebox.php

I was wondering if this, coupled with a wideband and a safe place for a few passes would get me a crude (and cheap) personal dyno?

Anyone ever use this (or it's predecessor the G-Tech pro) before?

BTW: There is a group buy going on for this stuff on bimmerforums (no affiliation)

Are the 17" M3 wheels still around? If so, what size are they and what is the offset?

Yes they are, 17X8 I think, and the stock offset (38 or 45)

I think this is more like an electric-sequential manual gearbox, the kind that Ferrari and Audi (et all) come equipped with, as opposed to the triptronic automatics (introduced by Porsche) that most other cars come equipped with. The DSG's or electric-SMG's are supposedly faster shifting than a conventional stick, so I guess driver involvement can be focussed elsewhere to go faster, depends on how you look at it I guess.

Very tempting, might warrant a test drive biggrin.gif

these transmissions are the future, like it or not...

True story, the days of the conventional stick were numbered when the boys at Maranello started throwing these on their cars too.

Nice write up. Is that the Ocotillo corporate center in one of the pics there?

Yep, the 325 stockers are spoken for.

The width on the SVT wheels is 8", the offset is 24MM I think.

You can't just say "Pushrods make more torque". That is way too general of a statement for anyone to make. So many variables involved.
.
.
.
You can make a DOHC engine make much more low-end torque than a pushrod engine, and you can make more top-end horespower than DOHC engine with a pushrod one. ohmy.gif

Or both, VVT FTW, just ask the AMG folk wink.gif
