What better excuse do you need to come out and play? We are doing up a big lunch spread for after the event on 5/5/13. The event will be at the Bisbee/Douglas Airport, as usual. We are not getting back to Sierra Vista until further notice, in case anyone was wondering. If you plan to show up, let's hear from you so we know how much to cook. Not 100% certain, but I'm guessing Mexican food. Tacos, etc. most likely.

I plan to bring out the FIAT X 1/9, so now's your chance to pummel me in PAX points if that's on your to-do list.
See y'all there!

Yum!

Trying to lure those foodie out of towners are we?

Sounds like a good time to be had by all.

Seeing as it was 33 here this morning, you got me interested because it's certainly gotta be warmer there.

Race safe you'se guys!

Miss your advice Harry. I'm running STR in my NA... I know, you'd tell me it's the wrong tool for the job andto stop over steering so much.

Hope all is well there.

Hi,

New here. I didn't register in time but would like to come out anyway. I couldn't find detailed directions. After 80 and heading down 191 south, where do I turn into the airport?

Thanks,
Barry

Barry,
Sorry I just got back. I don't know if you made it or not but father down the map page are some more detailed maps.

Also Google will give you direction to the Bisbee Douglas International airport which is where the event is held. There is an AutoX sign out on 191 where you turn in to the airport. Once there you just have to follow the autoX signs to the parking paddock area.

A big thank you to everyone that attended today's event. I drove poorly but it was a fun event, the food was good and plentiful as well. Also I need to thank John for letting me get reacquainted with the X1/9 in the time only runs. Not exactly like I remember from the 70's and 80's but fun anyway. Also thanks to Shannon for letting me drive a fun run in his STR Miata.

Another great event! Thanks to everyone who made it out.

Sorry to all the corner workers who were on the south end on my final run.

Well yeah I gave them a little help with teardown on the north end. It's a good thing I was the last run of the day. smile.gif

Oh yeah a set of results are up, as well. You beat me John, good job.

Thanks, Mike. I wasn't very well prepared so held off. I'm on Dove Mountain (Marana) so I guess a 2 1/2 hour drive. I'll try for next month. Also, I really want to do the Dec. school. My '04 EP3 Civic is too modified to compete well as I'm building it to handle at it's best - as opposed to fitting in a specific group - but just want to have fun and learn anyway. Barry

Barry,
In any case you are welcome to come down anytime. We don't usually have food at the event but do go someplace for food afterwards.

The Dec event we do usually have a good time.

Michael

Thank you, Michael. Lots of V8s down there! What would be a top speed speed guesstimate be for a stock motor EP Civic? I ask because it looks fast so I would have rev limiter problems in 2nd gear, which is around 58 iirc. Which would be fine, just curious. I imagine the weather even in the summer is a touch cooler than Marana/Tucson?

Most of us four cylinder guys are in third gear in the faster sections of the course at BDI. Top speed isn't really what makes people fast- its average speed. Your Civic would do well since it is nimble.
