We always appreciate the fast turn around on results Jeff!
Only correction I see is Chris Steele needs to be moved from PAX2 to PAX1

As a learning moment, when you change cars (and likely classes), on the Registration Tool "Mind the Cones", you have to add your new car to their "Garage" and delete your old one. Otherwise MTC puts in your old car.

And same for your chosen previous Classes. Sometimes your prior information carries forward unless you choose your new Class too.

Taylor...... C Street Open, or C Street Pax1? Both have run group preference this Series.

Chris Steele......take note!!! laugh.gif rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the heads up about changing cars. I only picked up this 350Z Thursday and thought it was closed online to change but I will update in the future so i don't have to go through the line AGAIN.

I would like C Street\PAX1 as the class and run group(I think I am using the correct verbiage here).

Well upon looking further into PAX1 vs. Open I think I might want to run open. Do you think that's the best choice after getting out of NV1 or should I stick with PAX?

OK, here's what I think I know. wink.gif
  1. First identify your Class. You are in C Street. Yea!
  2. Next, choose where you would most like to chase your trophy. Open Group is straight-up, time vs time, no factors involved. Everyone there would be in your same SCCA Class. BUT (notice the big "BUT"?), from event to event those who also choose C Street Open may or may not make all the events, or the same ones you do. PAX1 is more secure as far as always having other cars to run against, if that's important to you, but they will likely be from many different Classes. Harry, Tom, and Kevin (C Street this event) may or may not be here for future events. You could become "Mr. Lonely".
  3. Finally, ALL Competition Groups this Series (Open, Street, PAX, Sportsman, etc.) you are allowed to ask for whatever run group you prefer. If you register very early, chances are you'll get what you asked for. The later you register, you could end up with your second or even third choice (A/B/C).

So, I can't tell you what's best. I tried to describe the "landscape" for you (and others) above, to help guide your choice.

*I* prefer to run Open Class, even if I'm alone. For me this past event there were five cars in my Class. One (me) ran Open, two others ran PAX3, and two others ran Sportsman. We COULD HAVE had a class of five, but our many other choices diluted that from happening. I would have been fourth.

The two who ran Cam-C Sportsman finished 10th and 11th there, and the PAX3 guys finished first and fourth there.

Did that help? smile.gif

I run Open class just as Scott, even if it means fewer cars to run against. There are at least 3 other drivers that COULD (and in my very humble but totally accurate opinion wink.gif ) SHOULD run in STS Open, but choose to run in other groups. We could have a very competitive bunch if we all ran STS Open and I feel it would be a lot more fun, even if I don't take a top spot. I feel like the extra competition drives me to be better.

That helps a bunch. If I always want other drivers to compare against I should run PAX1. If I only want to run against my class I run open with the possibility of being a very lonely driver..... decisions, decisions......

Keep in mind, "PAX" is an arbitrary calculation conceived by Rick Ruth somewhere in the United States, not in Arizona, in theory based on various events throughout the country. His numbers alone determine your "Pax score" against others, whereas in "open class" you are running against "like cars" as determined by the SCCA, Inc. As I understand it. I have chosen to run in BS open as a more fair way to determine my driving abilities (or lack thereof!).
