If you did not register online, be sure to get to the event early so that you are not waiting in line too long to register. Remember, it costs extra to register on site. Josh J can help you with this.

Worker positions are not always final. If you have any questions or concerns, please take it up with the worker chief, Dan Kevin.

Thanks Kim!

Note, we are moving to 4 run groups for this event. Registration does there best to predict what actual numbers based on what happens on site and adjust the run groups based on that but it can be a tricky thing to do so please bear with us.

Still looking for some help with tech so if anyone is interested in helping there let us know.

I just checked the event site - it still lists three run groups, A works for B, B for C and C for A.

With the new format, will A work for C, B for D, or ? ? ?

My "educated" guess, based upon what has been done before, is that the Club would revert back to those earlier patterns.

A/C, C/A, B/D, D/B, and finally E/F, F/E. A works for C, C works for A. Like that.

Shoot me if I'm wrong, but feeling pretty safe here. cool.gif

You are correct, A and C will work for each other and B and D will work for each other. That allows a run group in between which should speed up switch over.

There may be exceptions as we are going to make sure we have the adequate worker coverage, so again please bear with us.

I can help with tech but someone will need to find a starter for D to replace me there it appears.

Also, I see a Kart entered (Ken Gerard....KM.....D15 and F22). Not a Junior Kart.

I'm checking with Kim K now to see how we want to handle that.

I believe that Karts must run before or after all cars within a certain group, cannot run at the same time.

Stay tuned.......

Question: I run in A and have to leave after B group for another event. Can I switch with someone so I can work B instead of C? Shall I take that up with the Chief of Workers tomorrow?

Thanks.

Mike

Mike,

Yes, you need to see Dan, Worker Chief, and see what can be arranged. The answer right now is "Maybe".

Did you put that need in your Registration notes?

Mike,
Unfortunately with the switch to 4 run groups we are a little thin on worker coverage and that is especially the case for people who are running in A and working in C so there is a very good chance that the answer is going to be no. I get the irony that this might lead you to have to miss our event depending on what that other event is, which would also add to our problem of worker coverage from A group entrants.

In the end cannot give a definitive answer till after we see what on site registrations look like.

Sorry this is not better news,

Thanks Scott. I did not put that in the registration notes, no. I'll make sure to use that if it happens again. This is the first time I've seen four run groups also.

I'll check with Dan tomorrow and see if we can work something out.

Question 2: I did the yearly tech last event. I think I need to buy a windshield paint marker to write my own run number. What am I looking for and where do I buy one? Thanks again.

So worker coverage from people running in A and B group and working in C and D respectively may be a little thin. This is dependent on how many on site registrations we get minus how many last minute cancellations there are.

As a result there may be the need to make some tweaks and items being considered are having some people who are running in C work in group D and people who are running in D work in group C. We may also need to have some people assigned non-standard work assignments for both comp and time only runs perform a regular work assignment for their comp runs. I'll be sending an email to those people as a heads up.

We will also of course welcome anyone willing to do an extra work assignment smile.gif. Remember this club is 1005 volunteer run and there are a number of people putting in a lot of unseen hours outside the events to make them happen so anything you can do as well is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey Mike (Got your name from other postings; please add a signature line wink.gif ),

Highly likely Dan can figure something out, just hard to promise anything yet. <<<edit to strike out this line, see my post #12 above - Kevin Venisnik

Maybe a buddy can cover for you?

Lots of us carry our own windshield markers (easy to borrow until you have your own), and/or many use shoe polish.

"Ace" might be the place, but maybe Walmart too? cool.gif

Solo Safety Stewards and Course Design have a plan in place that we believe will allow us to run the Kart safely, subject of course to passing tech and sound.

I am running in group B and E so I am scheduled for D and F work. I am more than willing to pick up an extra work spot.

"Ace" might be the place, but maybe Walmart too? cool.gif

Sig added. I have a friend running in D that will switch work groups with me. He will take my C and I'll take his B work assignment. Will that work? Not trying to be difficult or cause an issue. Usually I'm there for the full day.

Thanks for the Sig. Helps to get to know everyone.👍

Coordinate your “trade” with Dan the Worker Chief so everyone gets credit for their assignments.

Thanks for helping to find a solution.😎
