What are the best Xbox headsets available? Full on audio headsets or just the regular voice only ones.. .

So I "had" overstocked on headsets (3) an original one, a wireless one, and one that came with that little qwerty keyboard add on for a controller.

Original one worked really well. Best of all three really. but it got ate by the dog.

Wireless one, well it looses charge fast but works good enough. It has been lost by the dog and probably is so mangled, it doesn't even matter if I find it.

qwerty keyboard headset: It sucks. Brian Peters and others can attest to that and it's practically new, not sure what the prob is. Maybe I don't keep enough juice in my controllers.

thanks for the suggestions. I just got a $50 gift card to Best Buy so thats where my money is likely going.. .

I use the headset that came with the keypad. I don't have many problems. Brian is just getting old, so he has a hard time hearing tongue.gif I find that the quality of audio on XBL is usually good, but sometimes people's voices get choppy or echos.

Seriously though, how good is your connection?

You have to hate when your dog eats your headset. Happened to me with my original xbox sad.gif

I use a wireless headset under a pair of over-the-ear wireless stereo headphones. Having the microphone boom extend out of the headphone cups keeps the microphone from picking up loud game sounds. You can hear much more subtle sounds this way, too. A good example is being able to hear someone running through the sewer from the top deck in Team Fortress 2Fort. ph34r.gif

There are hybrid sets that plug into the controller and pick up the game audio wirelessly, but I hate having a wire from my ear to the controller. It just complicates beer runs between games. cool.gif

My connection is good. I think that there are more factors than just a sub par headset going on but the issue has gotten more consistent with this keypad headset.

I'm pretty sure I have an issue when there is no lag and the controller is plugged into the Xbox.

sometimes I'll hear someone okay but they wont be able to here me okay. kinda points to a mic issue. dog slober probably isn't good for mics happy.gif
